About —

Anthony Hadden is an art director, designer, and creative leader in SLC, Utah. He’s the son of an architect and Chinese immigrant and grew up on a steady diet of art, design, rice, and the intersection of American and Chinese cultures. He’s also a semi-avid pedaler and self-proclaimed foodie. He loves discussing, teaching, and learning about design, cycling, food, and cultures.

Anthony has more than 20 years of design and leadership experience at small and large agencies, client-side, and as a consultant. He has art directed and designed for such clients as Plantronics, Microsoft, and American Express. He also worked client-side for Making Memories and 1-800 Contacts (both leaders in their respective industries). He’s built and managed internal teams and managed agency and print production partners. He’s also taught graphic design, branding, and typography at Brigham Young University.

Here are a few things that he’s passionate about—some might call them obsessions:

1. Improper kerning should result in, at least, misdemeanor charges.
2. He’s ridden LOTOJA six times.
3. There’s a difference between and ' which must be strictly adhered to.
4. Great typography makes his soul happy.
5. There’s a small but deeply nerdy group of people on this planet who can geek out about commercial print processes. He’s their leader.
6. A talented creative team can transform a business.
7. Cilantro is the devil’s weed.
